The stairs are just to the right when you come in the front door.
The top of the landing as a nice rounded wall and provides access to all the upstairs bedrooms (two bedrooms on each side of the stairs).
As you get to the top of the stairs, there is a full bathroom directly in front of you. 
To the east of the stairs are two nice-sized rooms. In the first room, which we used as a baby room, we painted and did neat wall texturing just last year. We installed a tall chair rail about 3/4 up the wall and then put thin vertical slats down the remainder of the wall. There is great closet space in this room as well.
Next to this room is another bedroom. We used this as a guest room and didn't do any painting, so it's a blank canvas for your own creativity! Once again, great sized room and nice closet space. The large window makes it nice and bright also!

There is a nice linen closet just to the west of the staircase, which is great for storage.
This is another pretty bare room, that we never painted. This is one of the best rooms in the house, however, as it has a really neat layout and sits just above the front walkway. 
Finally, next door to this room is the LARGE master bedroom. It is such a great size with so much space! We also built a chair rail in this room to add some character. This room easily fits an entire bedroom set, with left over space. And with the large window, you can look accross the street at the beautiful farm field and also catch some gorgeous sunsets in the west. 
It has a nice vanity and full bathroom right in the room.
One of the best features about this room is the walk-in closet. It is HUGE, with so much storage space.
